Børge Mogensen – Designs for Life is the story of one of Denmark’s biggest furniture designers, Børge Mogensen, who died in 1972 at the age of 58. It is the portrait of the designer, the craftsman, and the private person, Børge, but it is also the story of a country, which in the years following World War II was experiencing an economic and cultural boom. Times are changing, but representing the highly acclaimed Scandinavian aesthetics, Børge Mogensen’s designs will continue to inspire.
Allowing us access to an extensive archive of drawings, sketches and furniture and telling stories never told before, Thomas Mogensen, son of Børge Mogensen, will add new facets to the tales of Børge’s life.
Børge Mogensen – Designs for Life has been selected for CPH:DOX and will be shown at Dagmar cinema on Thursday, November 5, 21:30 and in Falkoner cinema on Monday, November 9, 16:30. The film will also air on Danish television, DRK, in December 2015.
